The Three Hills Arts Academy is a non-profit arts organization that promotes arts education and performance through lessons, recitals, workshops, chamber music ensembles, concerts and community theatre. Our motto is "to create and grow together as a community", which we seek to do through excellence and enjoyment.
We offer three exciting theatre programs per season. We feature a Shakespeare comedy each summer during Bard's Backyard, a mystery play fundraiser in the fall, and an annual musical. Our biggest event of the year, our 18th Spring Musical which featured broadway's classic hit, Guys and Dolls. Our chamber choir is a group of auditioned vocalists who through many hours of rehearsal and dedication are able to perform some of the most well known classical pieces with such emotion that often the listener is left with chills. We are currently looking for the right person to take over the direction of the Chamber Choir. This choir meets for 6 weeks of Wednesday night rehearsals in preparation for our Community Christmas Concert, a free local concert involving all of the Academy groups performing heart-warming and exciting Christmas music. This concert takes place during the last weekend of November. Below is a taste of what we did last year! A small community string group led by Ingrid Thornton and organized by Louise Mantel performing classical and modern works. A wonderful expression of music-making as a community. Wildrose Strings and Fiddles n' Fun The Fiddles n' Fun (Beginner) is directed by Kathy Oostra and the Wildrose Strings (Intermediate) are directed by Ingrid Thornton. Our student string ensembles meet once a week on Wednesday as a group lesson and are an integral part of growing, healthy musicianship. |
